And how many good teachers will we have to lose before this board does something right for our schools.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14719129.post-1160602078412974782006-10-11T17:27:00.000-04:002006-10-11T17:27:00.000-04:00Yes violence is a disgusting thing. If you think t...Yes violence is a disgusting thing. If you think that there havent been violent acts at RHS or in the vicinity then you are blinded. There have been many occurrences of violence behind Wendy's or Toy r Us and yet I dont think school officials make parents aware of this. Gangs are a big probem at the High School. While all of this is a problem I think the School Board has a bigger problem. They have showed their inability to make propper decisions by accepting a RESIGNATION for some one who was as rumor has it, having an affair with staff and yet paid him $45k? Then they go on to pay an interim Super intendant $900 a DAY?? and yet our teachers still have no contract? I attended the School Board meeting last night and was disgusted by each and every School Board member there. Our teachers spoke with passion, heart and conviction and yet sitting in that audience I knew their pleas fell on deaf ears. The School Board has shown by their recent decisions they are inept at making wise and appropriate decisions. Time to sweep the board.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14719129.post-1160149841909729832006-10-06T11:50:00.000-04:002006-10-06T11:50:00.000-04:00Hello, my name is Sharon and I am 20 years old and...Hello, my name is Sharon and I am 20 years old and I have graduated from Riverhead High School, and I think that everything going in the world is crazy. Within the past few weeks there has been more school shootings than I ever imagined possible. I dont know what is going on in these people's minds. The amish town story is really depressing because girls of such a young age did not deserve to die, they barely even got to experience life. It's horrible what is happening in our world. It makes me scared that something like that COULD happen in Riverhead and that something could happen to one of my friends who still attends high school. It's a scary thought and I bet there are a lot of students that live in fear now because like you said, it CAN happen anywhere, and you never know where it is going to happen next, Pennsylvania isnt that close, but my uncle lives in Pennsylvania, and thats just a little too close to home for me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
