(Cutchogue-Southold Town)

I really like reading through the old editions of the paper that we have here in our "morgue." I find it fascinating. (They're also on microfiche at the Riverhead library, going back to at least around the turn of the century --the 20th-- with our predecessors, the County News and the Riverhead Review.)

If you're into that sort of thing, and you have a library card, you can also read old New York Times editions online going back to the 1800s, through the SuffolkWeb virtual reference collection.Denise Civilettihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05971042296331145084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14719129.post-1139503911423438012006-02-09T11:51:00.000-05:002006-02-09T11:51:00.000-05:00I actually saw Apocalypse Now at the Suffolk Theat...I actually saw Apocalypse Now at the Suffolk Theater in 1979 (I was 15 or 16, I guess). It was the first R-rated movie I ever saw and I remember it disturbed me a great deal. People could smoke in the theater then, too.

I believe Hargrave Vineyards was planted in 1978, though. They may not have been making wine, but the vines were in the ground.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18116372272883410329noreply@blogger.com
